Types Of Climate Change

Climate Change

Climate change has been dominating the news cycle lately, with opinions being tossed around by politicians and celebrities alike, but most people aren’t experts on this subject. In fact, if you ask most people what they think about climate change, they probably won’t even know how to answer. For example, do you know what type of climate change exists? Is it global warming or climate change? Well, both terms are correct because there are actually several types of climate changes that exist right now and will continue to do so in the future.

In fact, if you ask most people what they think about climate change, they probably won’t even know how to answer. For example, do you know what type of climate change exists? Is it global warming or climate change? Well, both terms are correct because there are actually several types of climate changes that exist right now and will continue to do so in the future.

1. Atmosphere Changes

There are four types of climate change that occur. These include global warming, polar ice cap melting, sea level rise, and severe weather events. Global warming is the term used to describe an increase in Earth's average surface temperature caused by the greenhouse effect. The polar ice cap melting is a result of global warming. As it melts, it releases more water into the oceans, which causes sea levels to rise. With warmer water and air, temperatures come more severe weather events such as hurricanes and tornadoes.

2. Ocean Changes

There are five major changes that the oceans are undergoing due to climate change. These are sea level rise, ocean acidification, warming, ocean deoxygenation, and hypoxia. Some effects of these changes include coral bleaching, collapsing fisheries, and coastal flooding.

3. Land Changes

There are six types of land changes, which are caused by climate change. These types are floods, droughts, wildfires, coastal erosion, extreme weather, and heat waves. Floods happen when the water levels rise because of heavy rain or melting ice. Droughts happen when there is a lack of rainfall causing a lack of water in the ground and vegetation.

4. Human Impacts

Greta Thunberg is a 16-year-old climate activist from Sweden, who spoke at the United Nations Climate Change Conference. She began striking from school in August 2018 to protest and try to stop global warming.
